"I started Meals by Mel during one of the hardest seasons of my life. As a junior at Texas A&M, my family and I were diagnosed with COVID-19, and my dad quickly became critically ill, spending over three months in the ICU. During that time, we spent countless hours by his side, finding it almost impossible to care for ourselves. Meals became an afterthought as we focused on being present with him.

What I will never forget is how our community showed up. Friends provided meals for us, giving us the strength to keep going and allowing us to stay where we needed to be most. After my dad passed, I knew I wanted to give that same support to others.

Meals by Mel was created in his honor, with the hope of giving families the ability to stay present with their loved ones without worrying about their next meal."
